Vučinić: I still can’t believe I missed the penalty

AS Roma striker Mirko Vučinić admits he has no idea how he missed a vital penalty in the shoot-out against Arsenal.
The Giallorossi were eliminated of the Champions League after lost out 7-6 from the spot with Vučinić and Max Tonetto failing to convert.
Although Luciano Spalletti's men were not technically eliminated until Tonetto put his penalty over the bar, it could be argued that it was Vučinić's failure that cost Roma a Champions League quarter-final place.
His effort on Wednesday night was truly pathetic as he did little more than walk up to the spot and scuff an astonishingly poor shot into the legs of Manuel Almunia in the middle of the goal.
"I don’t know how I missed and I still can’t believe it," he told Corriere dello Sport.
"It was a really awful penalty, had I sent the ball left or right, it would have gone in because the goalkeeper did not move.
"I have to be honest, I don't know what the coach said when we got back in the dressing room, I was too upset.
"The fans were amazing yesterday, and I am just upset we could not finish the job and knock Arsenal out.
"We know we have failed in the Champions League, and now we have to do all we can to give something back to our fans."
