Bayern Munich have announced that captain Mark van Bommel has agreed to extend his stay at the Bavarian club.
The Dutch midfielder had been linked with a move away from the German champions after he appeared unhappy that Bayern had only offered him a 12-month contract.
The 31-year-old had been keeping his options open, with reports suggested that he was considering an offer to rejoin PSV Eindhoven.
However, van Bommel has now committed himself to the Bundesliga giants for another year.
"We have reached an agreement with Mark to prolong his contract for a year," Bayern general manager Uli Hoeneß said on Bayern's website.
Meanwhile, Argentine defender Martín Demichelis has also extended his contract and will remain in Munich until June 2012.
"I am pleased about the extension and would like to have much more success with Bayern," said the versatile defender.
