Former Brazil international Roberto Carlos has hinted that he would be happy to return to Real Madrid, should Florentino Pérez return to the presidency of the Spanish giants.
The 35-year-old joined Turkish giants Fenerbahçe in 2007 after 11 trophy laden years at the Bernabéu.
However, the World Cup winner made it clear that if Pérez triumph in the summer presidential elections and offered him the chance to go back then he would jump at it, despite just having penned a one-year extension with Fenerbahçe.
Pérez was president of Real from 2000 to 2006, during which time he brought in several big names such as Luís Figo, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, David Beckham, Michael Owen and Robinho.
"If Florentino comes and says 'Roberto, come back', I will have to think about it and talk about it," Carlos told Spanish radio station Cadena COPE. "I have never said I won't come back.
"I renewed my deal here, I have another year on my contract, but a lot of things can happen.
"People know I have a really great admiration and respect for Florentino.
"Fenerbahçe have given me the opportunity to be here 10, 15 years but I was at Real Madrid for 11 years and they will always be my team for life.
"If I said now that I didn't want to go back I would be lying, but we have to wait and see who will come in with Florentino, what plans Florentino has."
He added: "I would return to Madrid to play, to be part of a group of champions - I would not return to play a bit-part role.
"I feel strong and if I had the chance to return to playing at the highest level, I would think about it.
"When you train well and you are motivated, everything is much easier. This season I have scored five goals in the league and three in the Turkish cup.
"I know that I can be at the top level for three more seasons. I feel strong. I want to continue playing and then I will think about coaching."
