Liverpool boss Rafa Benítez has tipped record-breaking goalkeeper Pepe Reina to become one of the Reds' greatest ever goalkeepers.
The 26-year-old Spanish international reached 100 clean sheets as Liverpool stormed to a 5-0 win against Aston Villa on Sunday.
Reina beat former shot-stopper and club legend Ray Clemence's record for the fewest number of matches needed to reach 100 clean sheets, taking only 197 appearances to achieve the landmark, three fewer than Clemence’s tally of 200 matches.
"People don't realise how good Pepe is," Benítez told the club's official website.
"If you ask me about Clemence I will tell you he was a fantastic goalkeeper and a legend.
"I think in the future people will know just how good Pepe is as a goalkeeper.
"He gives the team a lot of confidence and don't forget he is a young player so I think he can still improve."
