Argentine midfielder Esteban Cambiasso has put pen-to-paper on a new deal that will tie him with the Inter Milan until 2014.

The 28-year-old's previous deal had been set to expire at the end of next season, but the club have moved early to ensure their midfield dynamo's future is safe.

Cambiasso, who joined the Nerazzurri from Spanish giants Real Madrid on a free transfer in 2004, has been a regular in the first team for the last five seasons.

He has won three Scudetti, two Coppa Italia's and three Italian Super Cups with the Italian champions.

"FC Internazionale and Esteban Cambiasso would like to communicate that with reciprocal satisfaction a deal to extend his contract with the club until June 30, 2014 has been reached," a club statement read.

"A press conference with the player will be held at Appiano Gentile on Wednesday March 25."
