Bayern Munich skipper Mark van Bommel has confirmed his intention to end his career with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in his homeland but insists he had not fixed a date to return.
The 31-year-old midfielder made his name with PSV before moving to Munich after his short stint with Barcelona.
His current contract at the Allianz Arena expires this summer, but he has been offered a new deal.
It is reported that Bayern's current offer is just for 12 months and he is believed to want a longer deal.
PSV have made van Bommel an offer to join this summer, and the player is now mulling over his options.
He told Abendzeitung: "When I joined Barcelona in 2005 I gave my word to the people at PSV that I would return to the club and retire from the game there then.
"Actually I have an offer to go there this summer and I am really playing with the idea of agreeing or whether to move there in two or three years time."
