AS Roma icon and captain Francesco Totti insists the Giallorossi have put their troubles behind and are now competing for the Champions League spot next season.
Roma made a dreadful start to the 2008/09 Serie A season as they lost more matches in the first eight weeks of the season than they did in the whole of the last campaign.
However, the capital club have had a brilliant start to 2009, collecting more points than any of their rivals in the last 10 matches to incredibly sit just one point adrift of fourth placed Fiorentina, the side currently occupying the final Champions League position.
"In the last round of the championship we were tasked with Genoa, one of this season's revelations," Totti stated in an interview with Corriere dello Sport.
"It was a tough game played at a very high pace, both from a technical and physical aspect.
"However, we got the three points, and that’s all that matters. The victory was very important for our position in the table and we had to work hard."
