AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed David Beckham has been included in the squad list for the UEFA Cup, prompting speculation he could remain in Milan beyond his short-term loan.
The England midfielder has been in impressive form since joining the Rossoneri last month and again starred for his new club as they beat Lazio 3-0 on Sunday, setting up both Alexandre Pato and Massimo Ambrosini for the opening two goals of the match with fine crosses.
Beckham's loan spell is set to end on March 9, but Milan have registered the 33-year-old for the UEFA Cup despite technically only being able to play in two of their matches.
"We decided to include Beckham in the UEFA Cup squad because he is doing very well," Ancelotti said after the match against Lazio.
"We want to take advantage of his form for the two games against Werder Bremen (on February 18 and 26)."
Beckham added: "I'm very happy. I'm enjoying myself here and I will be happy to play in the UEFA Cup."
