Villa pair scoop monthly award

Aston Villa's excellent form in December has helped Martin O'Neill and Ashley Young claim the Barclays Manager and Player of the Month awards.
O'Neill, a recipient of the monthly award for the sixth time in his career, guided Villa to an unbeaten run during December, having won four and drawn one of their five league matches
Meanwhile, winger Young becomes the first player in Premier League history to win the award three times in a calendar year, having also picked up the award in April and September.
His emergence as one the most exciting players in the division continued apace throughout the month, scoring three goals and contributing two assists to end 2008 in style.
The England international said: "To win it three times in a calendar year - the first player to do that - is an incredible thing personally. But it’s not just for me - it’s for all the players out there."
