Manchester City have completed the signing of Craig Bellamy from West Ham for £14 million.
The 29-year-old striker has signed a four-and-a-half year deal at Eastlands after successfully coming through a routine medical.
The capture of Bellamy becomes the club's second signing of the transfer window following Wayne Bridge's move from Chelsea last month.
City boss Mark Hughes has spoken of his excitement at once more linking up with a player he has always rated highly, having worked with him as boss of both the Wales national side and Blackburn.
"I am delighted to be working with Craig once more," Sparky told the club's official website.
"He is an outstanding player who provides us with qualities that we are lacking slightly.
"He has blistering pace, has bags of enthusiasm, has a superb attitude to training and will be a great addition to the squad."
Bellamy admits the chance to be reunited with Hughes was always going to be too exciting to turn down.
The speedy forward played arguably the best football of career when at Blackburn under Hughes and he believes his fellow Welshman will once again get the best out of him.
He said: "It (Hughes and his coaching team) was a big factor, because they are people that I have worked with since I was 18.
"They know me better than anybody-else in the football game, and they are people I completely trust in.
"They have progressed me massively, and I owe them a lot. The added bonus is that it's Manchester City and the way it is going at the moment with possibly one or two more players coming in over the top of me.
"I'm fortunate that this opportunity has come along, and I am grateful. I feel I am at my peak and I hope over the next few years to perform really well here."
Bellamy, who will join his new team-mates at their training camp in Tenerife, could make his City debut against former club Newcastle on January 28.
