Barcelona playmaker Xavi Hernández has finally signed new contract extension with the Spanish giants after months of negotiations.
Xavi's new contract will see him earn €7.5 million a year with five more incentives added on, making him one of the club's biggest earners.
The deal will run to 2014 after the club had initially stalled on a shorter contract.
In order to finalise the deal Barcelona president Joan Laporta was in attendance, taking the place of sporting director Txiki Beguiristain who was absent due to important family issues.
Both parties are said to be happy with the deal and the news will no doubt please manager Pep Guardiola as he sees the Spain international as a key figure in his plans.
