Bayern Munich have denied the possibility of unsettled striker Lukas Podolski leaving the Allianz Arena in the January transfer window.

The Germany international has struggled to get regular first-team football this season as boss Jürgen Klinsmann persists with a strike partnership of Luca Toni and Miroslav Klose.

The 23-year-old has admitted that he wants to leave the club in January in order to play regular football, with the likes of Manchester City, Everton, Aston Villa and former club FC Köln especially keen on his services.

"We have told FC Köln very clearly that there is no chance of signing Lukas Podolski in the winter break," said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge just days after general manager Uli Hoeneß also ruled out a January departure.

"Lukas will stay at least until summer 2009 - his contract runs up until June 2010.

"He will certainly spend the second half of the season at Bayern and after that we will see."
