UEFA Cup round-up: Milan held; Man City, CSKA and St. Etienne qualify

Two late goals from AC Milan denied Portsmouth a famous victory as the Serie A side missed a chance to join Manchester City, CSKA Moscow and St. Etienne in qualifying for the knockout stages early.
At Fratton Park, Portsmouth were 60 seconds away from beating star studded Milan only for Filippo Inzaghi to crush the hearts of the home side.
Younes Kaboul and Nwankwo Kanu appeared to have put Portsmouth on the verge of history in a year after their second half goals gave Pompey a two goal advantage with just six minutes to go.
But Ronaldinho, who came on with his team losing 2-0 with 16 minutes to go, won a dubious free kick after being fouled by Glen Johnson and then curved a sublime 30-yard free-kick that brought his team back from the dead.
And with two minutes of stoppage time already played, Inzaghi, who had hit the woodwork three times, controlled a lobbed pass from Gianluca Zambrotta and pounced the ball home to deny Portsmouth all three points.
City, meanwhile, moved top of Group A with a 2-0 win over Schalke and their progress was assured when Paris St Germain were held to a 2-2 at home by Racing Santander.
Benjani found the back of the net on 32 minutes as he picked up on a perfectly timed run from Daniel Sturridge, who featured instead of the injured Robinho, and tapped home into an open goal at the far post.
Having had a goal ruled out for offside, in-form Stephen Ireland doubled the lead when he slotted the ball under the advancing Manuel Neuer in the 67th minute.
While CSKA and St. Etienne both progressed to the last 32 with victories over Lech Poznan and Club Brugge respectively.
Tottenham also look on track for qualification for the knockout phase with a 1-0 win at NEC Nijmegen.
An early goal from Jamie O'Hara was enough to hand Harry Redknapp a seventh win since took charge at White Hart Lane.
