All three English teams were victorious in the UEFA Cup as Tottenham continued their revival with a comfortable 4-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb, Manchester City defeated FC Twente 3-2 and Aston Villa grabbed a 1-0 win at Slavia Prague.
Darren Bent scored a hat-trick at White Hart Lane to stretch Tottenham's unbeaten run to four matches and light up their hopes of advancing.
The former Charlton striker scored twice inside three minutes to give Spurs a commanding lead going into the interval.

Mario Gómez was the hero for Stuttgart after his brace gave his side a 2-0 win over Partizan Belgrade, while Udinese continued their good form in Europe with a 2-1 win at Spartak Moscow.
