Germany striker Lukas Podolski looks set to be on the move in January after demanding a transfer from Bayern Munich.

The 23-year-old was a star for his country at Euro 2008 but has frustrated by a lack of first-team opportunities at Allianz Arena.

And Landon Donovan's imminent arrival is expected to further push him down the pecking order.

Tottenham and Manchester City have both shown interest in Podolski after his Euro 2008 exploits, but Bayern decided not to cash in.

However, his patience has now been pushed beyond breaking point, and those clubs that expressed their interest over the summer are likely to return for a huge bidding war.

He told Bild: "I have made my mind up that I would like to leave the club in the winter.

"I have already told the management that I want to leave this winter."

Should Bayern accept his request, then former club FC Köln will have first option on a player they reluctantly sold in the summer of 2006.
