Barcelona star Andrés Iniesta could be out of action for six weeks after suffering a muscle injury during his side's Champions League match against Basel on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old put his hand down to his right thigh and requested to be substituted in the 67th minute of the match. He was replaced by Samuel Eto'o.
The club announced on their official website, www.fcbarcelona.com, that further tests will take place on Wednesday but that first indications foresee that Iniesta has torn a muscle and he will be out of action for between four weeks and two months.
The statement added that if the prognosis is confirmed, the Spain international will miss seven La Liga fixtures, including December's Clasico against Real Madrid.
"It's bad news, very bad news," coach Pep Guardiola said.
