AC Milan want Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos as the successor to Paolo Maldini next season, Corriere dello Sport reported.
The 40-year-old Maldini will retire at the end of this season after 24 years of loyal service to Milan jersey.
His retirement will leave a void in the defence, and Ramos could be the right man for the job.
Only 22-year-old but is already seen as one of the most talented defenders in Europe.
Real signed him for €27 million on September 2005 and made him the third most expensive teenager behind Wayne Rooney.
The question is whether Milan would be willing to digg their pockets as the price of the clause discharge is set at a staggering €120 million.
