Van der Vaart: I'm moving to Madrid

Rafael van der Vaart has announced that he will move from Hamburg to Real Madrid and will be presented at the Bernabéu on Tuesday.

The Dutch international confirmed on his website, vandervaartofficial.com: "Last night everything came together and I am now moving to Real Madrid."

Spanish media have reported the 25-year-old is set to sign a five-year deal for a fee of €13 million.

Van der Vaart, who has won over 50 caps for his country and scored 12 goals, has been linked with the Spanish giants for the past couple of months and was reported to have been signed at the specific request of coach Bernd Schuster.

The former Ajax captain, whose mother is Spanish, admitted he always wanted to move to Spain and now his dream finally completed.

He will be the fifth Dutchman in Los Merengues squad, joining Ruud van Nistelrooy, Royston Drenthe, Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben at the Bernabéu.
