Saphir Taïder scored a fantastic screamer as Sassuolo grabbed their first victory of the campaign with a comfortable 3-1 success away at Parma on Saturday.

There was a frenetic early pace to this Emilia-Romagna derby in which both sides were in desperate need of a lift, with just one win in the collective 16 games they have been involved in all season.

Sergio Floccari headed the visitors into a 20th-minute lead and Francesco Acerbi touched home from a free-kick to double the advantage four minutes later.

Eusebio Di Francesco's men then tripled their lead on 52 minutes through a stunner from Taïder.

A free-kick was cleared only as far as Taïder and the Inter Milan loanee rifled an unstoppable shot from 30 yards which found the top corner, prompting applause even from some of the home fans.

Antonio Cassano pulled a goal back late on for Parma, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.

"I was happy with my goal today, I hit one like that a year ago against Bologna," Taïder told Sky Sport Italia.
