A picture of players from South African outfit Orlando Pirates celebrating in the showers naked with the Nedbank Cup trophy has caused a stir on social media.
Pirates were crowned Nedbank Cup champions last Saturday following a 3-1 win over Bidvest Wits in the final at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The photograph shows the players covering their genitals with their hands in the dressing room showers, laughing and smiling in front of the Nedbank Cup trophy.
The image was first posted on Thandani Ntshumayelo's Instagram account, and was soon trending heavily on social media.
Ntshumayelo, nicknamed Bibo, later posted an apology soon after the image went viral.
But according to administrative manager Floyd Mbele, the players who appeared in the picture may have breached the club's social media policy.
He told the South African Press Association: "We have launched an enquiry into what transpired so we are able to get the facts, and once we've established the facts, we'll take it from there.
"We have a social media policy in the club and the players are well aware of what it entails, so the process will be guided by the document.
"Based on the strengths of what we get from the enquiry, the consequences might be a formal discipline enquiry.
"The main issue is how the picture got there, and how the picture eventually got out, and that's why we need to go through the enquiry.
"This is the first time that we are dealing with such an issue in the club and so we want to do things properly to avoid such things in future."
