A goal of the season contender from Miralem Pjanić led AS Roma to a commanding 2-0 win over AC Milan at the Stadio Olimpico on Friday.
The Giallorossi needed a win to keep the Scudetto race alive, while Milan headed into the game on the back of five straight wins.
Roma opened the scoring just before half-time with a magnificent solo effort from Pjanić.
After playing a one-two with Francesco Totti, the Bosnian midfielder elegantly surged past Sulley Muntari, Riccardo Montolivo, and Adil Rami before coolly slotting past Christian Abbiati at the near post.
Gervinho then doubled the lead midway through the second half to any slim Scudetto hopes alive.
"It was a great game, a great goal, so I am even happier for this victory," Pjanić told Roma Channel.
Roma coach Rudi Garcia told Sky Italia: "Normally a goal like this has to go round the world. If it's a player like Maradona then it will, but Mire is a fantastic player and I hope everyone all over the planet can enjoy this goal."
