Goal of the day: Neymar (Barcelona) vs Rayo Vallecano
Table of Contents
Neymar marked his return after a monthlong injury absence with a stunning goal to complete a 6-0 win for Barcelona against Rayo Vallecano at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona never looked like slipping up against second-bottom Rayo and were unfortunate to head into half-time only up 2-0 from Adriano's second-minute opener and Lionel Messi's lob on 36 minutes.
Alexis Sánchez and Pedro put the Catalan giants 4-0 up before Messi got his brace just before being subbed off.
Just as the game seemed to be coming to a close, Neymar, who came on in the second-half having recovered from injury, completed the rout with an incredible goal.
The Brazil striker, who had been out since hurting his right ankle last month, ran from just inside his own half, shook off one challenge before sending a curling rocket of a shot straight towards the top corner.
"His comeback was very good and in the 30 minutes he played, he did well," Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino said afterwards.
