Sensational Curler! Moritz Leitner (Stuttgart) vs Leverkusen
Table of Contents
Moritz Leitner scored his first ever Bundesliga goal in stunning fashion, but it wasn't enough for VfB Stuttgart as they lost 2-1 at Bayer Leverkusen.
Early in the Saturday's game, the hosts had the bulk of the possession but genuine openings were few and far between.
And Leitner opened the scoring in the 12th minute to put the visitors in the driving seat.
Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno could only half clear a Konstantin Rausch corner and into the path of Leitner.
His first volleyed attempt was blocked, so the Borussia Dortmund loanee curled a lovely left-footed shot into the top corner from 20 yards out.
But Stefan Kießling levelled matters 14 minutes later before Eren Derdiyok struck six minutes from time to complete the comeback.
