Goal of the day: Gabriele Angella (Watford) vs Nottingham Forest
Table of Contents
Gabriele Angella's audacious goal was not enough to give Watford a much-needed win against Nottingham Forest as the Hornets squandered a two-goal lead to lose 4-2.
Watford went ahead at the City Ground on Thursday night courtesy of an outrageous goal from Angella in the 33rd minute.
The 24-year-old Italian met an Ikechi Anya corner at the near post and acrobatically hooked the ball beyond Forest goalkeeper Karl Darlow with the outside of his foot.
Gonzalo Jara tried to keep it out on the far post but the Chilean could only head the ball against the underside of the bar and it bounced down over the goalline.
The Reds fell further behind to another Angella goal, but Simon Cox, Darius Henderson, and Jamie Mackie all scored after coming off the bench to turn the game on its head, before Cox netted again late on.
