Arsenal forward Theo Walcott has announced that he is expecting his first child with wife Melanie Slade, with the due date possibly clashing with the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The childhood sweethearts tied the knot at Castello di Vincigliata in Italy in June after getting engaged on New Year's Eve.
A post on Walcott's Facebook page read: "Me & Mel are happy to confirm we are expecting our first child, which is due early next summer.
"We are both very excited at such happy news just a few months after getting married. We are really looking forward to becoming parents."
The timing of his baby arrival may be a little awkward for the 24-year-old, though.
It is likely the England forward will be in Brazil for the 2014 World Cup, which kicks off on June 12.
