Table of Contents
Aleksandar Kolarov's spectacular free-kick put Manchester City on their way to a 3-1 victory over Leicester City in the Capital One Cup quarter-final at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester struggled to cope with the pace and ability of their top-flight opponents and found themselves behind after only eight minutes courtesy of Kolarov's free-kick.
Referee Roger East was forced to award a free-kick for City when Edin Džeko was fouled by Anthony Knockaert.
Kolarov stepped up and fired home his second goal in a week with a sublime, unstoppable free-kick from 30 yards out.
There was nothing Kasper Schmeichel could do, though, as the ball was struck perfectly into the top corner.
Džeko doubled the visitors' lead just before the break before completing his brace shortly after the break.
Leicester were able to pull one back 13 minutes from time but Lloyd Dyer's strike failed to spark a dramatic fight back.
