Players of English League One club Swindon Town will personally refund travelling fans who watched the club's humiliating FA Cup defeat at Macclesfield Town.
Swindon were dumped out of the FA Cup by non-league side Macclesfield following a 4-0 defeat at Moss Rose last Saturday.
Swindon manager Mark Cooper apologised to the fans after the game and told BBC Wiltshire: "We've agreed to cover the cost of the fans that travelled. Not because we're creeping, it's a gesture of appreciation.
"I just made sure the players knew it was unacceptable."
And, on Monday, Cooper confirmed that all 305 supporters who made the trek to Cheshire for the tie would get their money back.
Cooper told the Swindon Advertiser: "Everyone was ashamed of the performance and we appreciate the support that we have home and away.
"It's just to show that we're all in this together."
305 Swindon fans made the trip, with the most expensive ticket at the away end costing £18 - meaning the club will have to pay out up to £5,490 in refunds.
