Goal of the day: Zlatan Ibrahimović (PSG) vs Anderlecht
Table of Contents
Zlatan Ibrahimović scored four goals in Paris Saint-Germain's 5-0 away win at Anderlecht, with the goal that completed his hat-trick was the pick of the bunch.
The Sweden international opened his account in the 17th minute after neat work from Gregory van der Wiel, and the pair combined again for his second midway through the half.
Ibrahimović then completed his hat-trick in the 36th minute with an absolute rocket from distance.
Anderlecht cleared a left-wing cross from Maxwell, but the ball dropped perfectly for Ibrahimović 30 yards from goal.
And the 32-year-old hammered a ferocious, swerving volley that flew into the top corner with Anderlecht goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski given no chance.
The effort was so good it earned a round of applause from the home crowd, with Ibrahimović returning the gesture to all four corners of the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium.
Edinson Cavani got in the score sheet after half-time before Ibrahimović grabbed his fourth goal of the night to become the 10th player to score four times in a Champions League match.
"I think I have to say the third goal was my favourite," Ibrahimović told UEFA.com
"It was a good goal as I shot from distance and timed it very well and it went in. It felt like a very hard shot."
On the reception from the Anderlecht fans, he added: "It was incredible. It gave me goose bumps!
"It was a great honour and I want to thank the fans for their reaction. This is not something that happens often."
