František Rajtoral gave the visitors a fourth minute lead but CSKA got back into the match thanks to goals from Zoran Tošić and Keisuke Honda.

And a dreadful own goal from the visitors with 12 minutes remaining sent the home side 3-1 ahead.

CSKA mounted an attack after a turnover by Plzeň in midfield, but Řezník seemingly snuffed out the chance with a back pass to Kozáčik.

Unfortunately for the goalkeeper, his touch failed him completely and he could only watch as the ball rolled into the empty net.

Marek Bakoš pulled one back with a close-range header, but the hosts held on to take the points.

"We still believed we could equalise but there was a third CSKA goal in a situation which cannot be predicted," Plzeň coach Pavel Vrba said afterwards.

"Our second goal came too late. Sadly our own mistakes brought about the result."
