Sone Aluko scored a superb late winner as Hull City twice came from behind to beat Newcastle United 3-2 at St James' Park on Saturday afternoon.
Loïc Rémy twice gave the Magpies the lead in the first half, but Robbie Brady and Ahmed Elmohamady struck equalisers to keep Hull in the game.
But the Tigers did not want to settle for a point, and they grabbed the winner in spectacular fashion on 76 minutes.
After combining with Liam Rosenior down the left, substitute George Boyd pulled a deliciously tempting ball back to the edge of the box for Aluko.
The Nigerian striker, who was a menace all afternoon, met the cross with the sweetest of left-foot volleys to send the ball crashing in off the post.
"It was some goal that Sone scored to win us the game," said Hull manager Steve Bruce. "It's a really, really wonderful goal. Sone will remember it for a long time.
"For Boyd, and Aluko, one was fifty grand from Peterborough and the other's one's a free transfer, I'm delighted for them to come on the big stage and show what they've got."
