Summer signing Juan Iturbe scored his first goal for Hellas Verona with a sensational free-kick en route to a 2-1 home victory over fellow promoted side Livorno on Sunday.
Andrea Mandorlini's side were indebted to goalkeeper Rafael for keeping the visiting side at bay in the first half.
Although Livorno were creating more chances, it was Verona who scored against the run of play thanks to a fantastic free-kick from Iturbe.
The 20-year-old Argentine, who is on loan from FC Porto, won a free-kick on the edge of the area.
Iturbe took the free-kick himself and duly curled the ball left-footed into the top corner, giving Livorno goalkeeper Francesco Bardi no chance.
Leandro Rinaudo levelled with a header before half-time, only for Jorginho to settle the match with a dubious penalty in the 74th minute.
"Juan Iturbe is a great player, we are very content. He is a prospect and he has great potential," Mandorlini told Rai Sport.
