A gorgeous first touch and finish from Bartłomiej Pawłowski earned Málaga a hard-fought 2-2 draw at Real Valladolid on Friday.
The visiting side took the lead at the Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla through Roque Santa Cruz in the 23rd minute.
But Valladolid surged ahead on two almost identical goals from corner kicks by Patrick Ebert headed in by Javi Guerra on 56 minutes and Humberto Osorio eight minutes later.
With Valladolid hoping to hold out for their second win of the campaign, they were denied by a fine strike from Pawłowski with 15 minutes left on the clock.
The 20-year-old showed supreme control and skill to control an Ignacio Camacho cross before swiveling in mid-air to fire home an unstoppable left-footed shot past Diego Mariño.
"His goal tonight will really boost his confidence," Málaga coach Bernd Schuster told a press conference after the game.
"He's working very well and the support he gave the team in this match was phenomenal."
