Two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash got an amazing opportunity to have a tryout with Italian giants Inter Milan at the New York Red Bulls training facilities on Tuesday.
After being put through a series of drills focusing on change of direction, one-on-one situations and attacking movements as a team, Inter rounded off their second workout in New Jersey with a match played on a three-quarter length pitch.
LA Lakers star Nash thus got the chance to show what he can do with his feet and he lived up to his reputation for being a handy footballer, slotting in comfortably alongside the Nerazzurri as they played the ball about at pace.
Afterwards, Nash, a huge soccer fan, Tottenham Hotspur supporter and part-owner of the Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS, chatted to Inter coach Walter Mazzarri and posed for souvenir photos.
"It was a really fun day for me. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning because my dream came true," Nash told Inter Channel.
"Did I suffer in the heat? Yes, a lot. And the speed of the game that Inter play is much faster than it is in the charity games my foundation puts on in Chinatown."
