The Russian side won the first leg 4-1 in Portugal and never looked like relinquishing their first-leg advantage.

Danny was the architect of the Portuguese side's downfall with a wonderful individual display.

The 30-year-old opened the scoring on 29 minutes with a crisp finish which capped good work by pacy left back Igor Smolnikov.

The Portuguese then rubbed salt into his compatriots' wounds with a superbly taken goal three minutes into the second half.

He received a pass from Anatoliy Tymoschuk 40 yards from goal, poked the ball around two defenders then dispatched a delightful lob over Paços goalkeeper Matias Degra.

Aleksandr Bukharov further extended Zenit's lead, before Manuel José and Carlão struck either side of an Andrei Arshavin penalty as the tie ended 8-3 on aggregate.
