Peterborough United produced a stunning 6-0 Capital One Cup win over Reading at London Road with Danny Swanson scoring the pick of the goals in a high class display.
Britt Assombalonga opened the scoring after just four minutes before Lee Tomlin doubled the lead with a fine breakaway goal on 29 minutes.
Swanson then got in on the act with a glorious individual goal before the half hour mark.
From a Reading corner, Posh goalkeeper Bobby Olejnik bowled the ball to Swanson, who was comfortably in his own half with nobody near him.
The 26-year-old ran unchallenged for a full 70 yards, checked back onto his right boot and curled a lovely shot around his marker and into the top left corner.
Things got even worse after the interval when Tomlin scored two penalties to complete his hat-trick and Jack Payne rounded off an utterly miserable night for the visitors.
"I was obviously very pleased to score," Swanson told the club's website.
"I remember collecting the ball from Bobby and just having a run. I didn't think I would score when I got the ball, but I just tried to run and commit a few defenders.
"Fortunately for me, when I checked back I was able to get it past the keeper.
"It is up there with one of the best goals I have scored."
