Swedish politician Lars Ohly wanted to show his newly-inked Liverpool tattoo on Instagram, but accidentally revealed far more than he intended.
The former Left Party leader used his Instagram account to post the picture of a Liver Bird tattoo that had been newly-inked on his calf.
Once the mistake was pointed out to Ohly, the 56-year-old removed the image from his account.
"Ha, ha, I accidentally posted a picture on Instagram that showed more than intended. Now corrected," Ohly wrote on Twitter.
He added: "Oh, how many new followers I've got on Instagram today (and how disappointed they're going to be!)"
Other Swedish politicians were quick to weigh in on the issue on Twitter after the picture went viral.
Former Social Democrat leader Håkan Juholt tweeted: "I'd planned to grill sausages tonight but now it's going to be chicken."
"Congratulations to you, after all these years, for getting this genuinely public breakthrough!" wrote conservative Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, a political opponent.
Current Left Party leader Jonas Sjöstedt added: "Today I decided not to start using Instagram."
