Real Madrid new boy Isco was officialy unveiled to fans and media on Wednesday after arriving from Málaga for a reported €27 million.
The 21-year-old was presented by Madrid president Florentino Pérez after passing a medical exam and signing the contract that ties him to the club for the next five seasons.
According to reports in Spanish media, Isco due to net €2-million-a-season in wages, making him one of the squad's lowest earners, although his deal provides for a salary increase in each of the five years of his contract.
"There is nothing greater than being in Madrid, it's awesome," Isco reflected to reporters.
"I hope that with my age I can contribute a lot here, to bring enjoyment and to win many titles.
"It's true that I had offers from other teams in Europe but it's impossible to say no to Real Madrid.
"I'm confident that I'll win my place. You have to earn your place. I hope to do that.
"Winning a place at Real Madrid is difficult, but if I did not see myself doing so then I would not have come here."
The former Valencia youth player was strongly linked with a move to Manchester City with Manuel Pellegrini keen to be reunited with the player he worked with at Málaga.
Isco added: "I have few doubts about coming here. I only know that Pellegrini wanted me, but when I saw that Madrid were serious I did not think twice.
"Pellegrini has a lot of affection for this club and only had good things to say. I told him that I could not say no to Real Madrid."
Isco chose the number 23 shirt, but not because it was the 10th anniversary of David Beckham's arrival to the Bernabéu.
He said: "We all know that Beckham is a great player and it just happens that I have been unveiled with the same number on the same day, ten years later.
"I like the number 23 and I chose it because it's my brother's birthday."
The Benalmádena-born midfielder then quashed rumors that he has an affinity for Barcelona, whilst his labrador is named Messi.
Isco explained: "It's true that I've been a Málaga fan, but I am now a Madridista and whilst I am here I am going to give everything for this shirt. Nobody is going to question my commitment to Madrid.
"I also had another dog called Figo. It isn't important. Would I change my dog's name to Ronaldo? No, because he would ignore me."
Isco is Madrid's third signing of the summer, after the returning Daniel Carvajal from Bayer Leverkusen, and Casemiro from São Paulo.
