Goal of the day: Luis Silva (D.C. United) vs Chicago Fire

D.C. United suffered a 4-1 defeat to Chicago Fire on Saturday night at Toyota Park, but Luis Silva provided the best goal of the match with a gorgeous 25-yard effort.
Chicago broke down the D.C. defense with ease as they opened up a 3-0 first-half lead via a Chris Rolfe brace and a goal from Joel Lindpere.
The hosts wrapped up an excellent performance in the 56th minute when Mike Magee scored on a penalty kick for an insurmountable margin.
Three minutes later, Silva, acquired earlier this month from Toronto FC, offered some consolation with his first goal in a D.C. kit.
The 24-year-old took a through ball from Perry Kitchen 25 yards from goal and blasted his right-footed shot from distance past a diving Paolo Tornaghi to spoil the clean sheet.
"(The goal) is a bright spot, I suppose. It was a good goal. It's good to get him off the mark," D.C. coach Ben Olsen said after the game.
Silva added: "I was asking for the ball and Perry saw me in a good hole, right in the middle. I knew I had time and space, so why not try it. I decided to take the shot, and it went in."
