Borussia Dortmund launched their home jersey for the upcoming season on Friday in form of a huge shirt made up of 80,483 flowers.
On Thursday night, Dortmund's kit supplier PUMA planted the 80,645 flower pots, equaling the capacity of their Signal Iduna Park Stadium, in the design of the new shirt.
The flowers - marigolds as well as black, pink and grey petunias - had been specially cultivated in black and yellow pots for this campaign.
The yellow eye-catcher, planted on an area of 1,000 square metres, can be admired in Dortmund's Westfalenpark, with the Florian Tower offering the best view on the floral shirt.
"The creativity and fervor, with which PUMA organizes their BVB campaigns, is really impressive," Dortmund chairman Hans-Joachim Watzke told the club's website.
"The spectacular pictures from the Westfalenpark have caused a furore at our Austrian training camp and sparked very positive feedback from coaches, players and fans."
This gigantic floral shirt will be on display until 9 July, and fans are invited to come to the Westfalenpark on this day as from 5 p.m. the flowers will be given away as good luck charms for the new season.
