Comedy Own Goal: Abdel Rahman Ali Ibrahim (Sudan) vs Ghana
Table of Contents
Sudan goalkeeper Abdel Rahman Ali Ibrahim had an evening to forget on Friday after scoring a nightmare own goal in a 3-1 home defeat to Ghana at Khartoum.
Asamoah Gyan scored either side of Mudather El Tahir's penalty to give Ghana a 2-1 lead, taking his national tally to 34 and breaking Abedi Pelé's 33-goal record for the Black Stars in the process.
Any hopes of a comeback for the hosts were dashed when Sulley Muntari scored a bizarre third goal in the 83rd minute.
The AC Milan midfielder sent in the corner kick but it zipped straight to Ali Ibrahim for an easy stop.
However, the goalkeeper somehow managed to drop the ball he had completely under control and allow it to squirm into the net.
