Vicente del Bosque's men already knew they would be progressing to the last four before the start of their final Group B match at the Estádio Castelão in Fortaleza on Sunday.

The reigning world and European champions made a positive start to the match and they were ahead after just four minutes in scintillating fashion.

Andrés Iniesta spotted the run of Alba in behind the Nigeria defense and rolled a perfect pass into his Barcelona teammate.

The full-back then jinked his way past three Nigerian defenders before coolly slotting the ball past Vincent Enyeama.

Fernando Torres added a second after the break before Alba sealed the win with his second in the closing minutes.

The victory leaves Spain top of Group B and they will now face Itay in the last four next Thursday in a rematch of last year's Euro 2012 final.
