A sublime goal from captain Abdul Ajagun was not enough for Nigeria as they were unlucky to lose 3-2 to Portugal in their opening game of the U-20 World Cup in Turkey on Friday.
Bruma opened scoring for the Portuguese after 30 minutes before Aladje doubled their lead four minutes later to make the scoreline 2-0 at half-time.
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria fought back in the second half and they equalized in the 57th minute through an effort from Ajagun.
Ajagun then drew Nigeria level ten minutes later with an even better effort.
A deep corner found him all alone in the Portugal penalty area, where he showed sublime skill to control the ball and curled it into the far corner of the goal.
But Nigeria's joy was short-lived as Bruma got his second of the game less than two minutes later to clinch victory for Portugal.
