Sensational Solo! Rory McKenzie (Kilmarnock) vs Dundee

Kilmarnock striker Rory McKenzie scored a fantastic solo effort to open the scoring during the 3-2 victory over Dundee at Dens Park.

It took the visitors only four minutes to take the lead, and the quality of the goal delighted the Ayrshire part of the 4000-plus crowd.

Ross Barbour knocked a short pass to McKenzie, on the touchline, deep inside his own half.

He headed purposefully for the penalty area while the Dundee players were all busy picking up the players they expected him to pass to.

To his credit, the youngster had the wit to realize there was no challenge coming and kept going.

Lewis Toshney eventually spotted the danger but couldn't get a tackle in before McKenzie placed his shot beyond the diving Steve Simonsen from just inside the area.

The hosts leveled through Ryan Conroy's close-range shot, but Chris Johnston put Kilmarnock ahead again after the break before Sammy Clingan extended their advantage.

A fantastic lobbed finish from Mark Stewart provided brief hope for Dundee, but Kilmarnock ultimately held firm in the closing stages.
