FAIL! Ben Foster miskicks the ball, gives Norwich easy goal
Table of Contents
West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster had a night to forget as the Baggies suffered their worst defeat of the season at Norwich City.
Norwich ended an uneventful half ahead thanks to Robert Snodgrass' fine 25th-minute finish.
Foster, who had kept West Brom in the game, then had a nightmare moment on 62 minutes.
The former England international looked to have no trouble as he came to clear Wes Hoolahan's pass.
Foster was first to the ball but miskicked hopelessly, allowing Grant Holt to run the ball into the net for the easiest of his 77 Norwich goals.
A Gareth McAuley own goal put the game beyond the visitors before Jonny Howson rounded off a brilliant performance with a sweet strike in the last minute.
"I think the second goal was pivotal. Certainly when that one went in, you started to think it would be our day," said Norwich boss Chris Hughton.
West Brom manager Steve Clarke added: "It's a mistake and Ben knows it – but he didn't do it on purpose.
"It was pivotal in the game because at 1-0 you could still feel the nervousness and tension in the stadium.
"At 2-0, it sort of released the pressure on Norwich and they ran away with the game in the end."
