Toronto FC fought back from a goal down at the BMO Field with a Jonathan Osorio beauty, but New York Red Bulls eventually won the game 2-1.
The visiting side went ahead on 39 minutes when Thierry Henry produced a great fake on a pass from Roy Miller, letting the ball roll onto Tim Cahill to tuck inside the left post.
Toronto drew level in the 83rd minute through Osorio's second goal of the season - and it was a peach of a goal.
New York goalkeeper Luis Robles came for a Darren O'Dea free-kick and was unable to connect with the ball.
Ryan Richter gained possession and laid it off to Osorio outside of the 18-yard box.
The 20-year-old paused to tee up a high shot that sailed over the head of defender Jámison Olave on the goal line and into the net.
However, Cahill's heroics saved the day for New York as the former Everton star headed home a cross from Henry for the 89th-minute winner.
