A superb individual goal from Jérémy Ménez guided Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain to a 2-0 victory at Rennes on Saturday.
With one eye on their Champions League quarter-final return at Barcelona, PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti opted to rest some of his star names including David Beckham, Javier Pastore and Ezequiel Lavezzi from his starting line-up.
So often in Ancelotti's reign, individual brilliance has dug PSG out of a tight spot, and Ménez produced the required magic 11 minutes after the restart.
Clément Chantôme won the ball in the middle of the park and found the 25-year-old winger on the left flank.
Ménez charged down the wing, cut inside, leaving four defenders in his wake before sliding a composed finish past Rennes goalkeeper Benoît Costil.
And Zlatan Ibrahimović's 26th goal of the campaign three minutes into added time gave their club a first triumph in 11 visits to the Stade de la Route de Lorient.
"At half-time, the coach asked me to try and make the difference as much as possible," Ménez said after the match.
"For my goal, I saw there was space ahead of me and I was able to take advantage of that. It was great to score, but the team's victory is the most important thing."
