After playing three seasons for Osasuna, Azpilicueta, now playing for Premier League giants Chelsea, moved to Marseille for €7 million in 2010.

When Azpilicueta arrived in France, the then president Jean-Claude Dassier predicted him to be "the future right full back of the Spanish national team".

Di Meco, clearly unimpressed with the player's early performances at the Stade Vélodrome, disagreed and went on record as saying "if that happens, I'll eat a rat".

Fast forward two years, the 23-year-old made his full Spain debut in a friendly against Uruguay last February, and is already vying with Álvaro Arbeloa for the regular spot.

Impressively, Di Meco kept his promise and dined on a rat live on RMC radio on Monday.

To be more specific, Di Meco was served ragondin, a river rat called the coypu in English, and being accompanied by apple slices.
