Raging Bulgarian coach steals referee's cards, throws them away
Table of Contents
A Bulgarian coach was so incensed after conceding a penalty and having a man sent-off that he stole the referee's cards from his hands and attempted to rip them into pieces.
Antoni Zdravkov was taking charge of Botev Vratsa in their top-tier Bulgarian clash against CSKA Sofia on Saturday.
The madness kicked off on 18 minutes when Botev defender Nikolay Marinov was given his marching orders for a handball in his own area.
And when CSKA's Michel Platini tucked away the resulting penalty, Zdravkov went apoplectic with rage.
When the referee approached Zdravkov to try and calm him down, the 38-year-old coach plucked the cards from his hand, comically failed to rip them apart and had to be content with simply tossing them away.
The tantrum continued down the sidelines as he bellowed at a policeman before eventually leaving the field.
