Table of Contents
Wayne Rooney wrapped up a convincing 4-0 home win against Norwich City on Saturday with a long-range screamer from all of 25 yards.
Shinji Kagawa scored three great goals to grab a hat-trick earlier in the match, with Rooney playing creator for the Japan internaional's two tidy finishes.
With only minutes remaining and already two assists to his name, Rooney decided he should add a goal to his contributions.
The England forward was given far too much time and space by a Norwich defense that was just hoping for the final whistle.
Rooney took his chance as he went past a half-hearted challenge by Bradley Johnson before releasing a stunning 25-yard drive that dipped over Mark Bunn but under the bar to set the seal on a thumping victory.
"It'll do him good," United manager Sir Alex Ferguson told MUTV.
"Confidence is part of it for Wayne. He's missed two or three games recently but he worked hard and he scored a goal which is all we need."
