Goal of the day: François Clerc (Saint-Étienne) vs PSG
Table of Contents
A wonderful late strike from François Clerc gave Saint-Étienne a deserved 2-2 draw against Paris Saint-Germain in the French league on Sunday.
PSG surged into a two-goal lead at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard inside the first 20 minutes thanks to Javier Pastore's opener and a Zlatan Ibrahimović penalty.
The game slipped away from PSG, though, as Brandão forced an own goal from fellow Brazilian Alex just before half-time.
Saint-Étienne dominated possession in the second half and they were rewarded with a beautiful equaliser in the 72nd minute.
A flowing move ended with Brandão fighting in the area and stepping on to Thiago Silva in the process.
The referee, however, did not blow his whistle, and the ball fell for Clerc who let fly with a shot with the outside of the boot that flew into the top corner.
"I don't score so often, therefore I'm happy tonight. In addition, the goal was beautiful and it allowed us to achieve a draw," Clerc told Canal+.
